Gal-Pal Social Event Planned for Women

Women who want to meet other women are invited to the second annual lesbian Lucky 7 event in Houston.  Lucky 7 is a fun and successful concept that provides opportunities for people to mix and meet in person.

Here’s how it works: After some general socializing and ice-breaking, participants will have seven-minute conversations with seven different people.   Participants will be paired up and a list of suggested questions will be provided to help everyone get started.

When the bell rings, conversations are brought to a close.  Each participant then uses a match card to note whether or not she is interested in seeing that person again.  Participants turn in their completed match cards at the end of the evening.

Over the next few days, the organizers determine the mutual matches, alert the participants and provide the agreed upon contact information.  Participants may then follow up as they wish.

This event brings like-minded people together, promotes interaction, and allows people to meet face-to-face in fun, fast and easy ways.  Events such as these have been used since the mid-nineties to introduce people in various communities, and the phenomenon is spreading internationally.

Houston’s second annual Lucky 7 event for lesbians will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 6 p.m. at Meteor, which is at the corner of Genesee and Fairview.   Registration is $20 and pre-registration is encouraged.  At 8 p.m., a general mix-and-meet begins, which is free and open to all.

Whether you want to find a golf buddy, dance partner, dinner companion or valentine, this is an opportunity for you to meet women that you’ve never met before or to talk to that special person you’ve had your eye on for years.

The event is produced by Gal Pals, a division of the Houston Women’s Festival.  For more information, access: www.hwfestival.org/events.htm, or call 713-861-3316.
