Mission
The Athena Art Project was established in 1996 as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that supports the artistic endeavors of women.
The Athena Art Project is organized with these principles in mind:
- Art can and does change the world
- Women are worthy
- The Gulf Coast region, and Houston in particular, is fertile ground for creativity and art appreciation of all kinds
Events
The Athena Art Project produces the annual Houston Women's Festival in the fall. The festival is a celebration of music, art, culture and community that has been held annually since 1995. In addition to the festival, the group has also produced or assisted with the many other events.
Contact Us
Our primary goal is to provide artistic celebrations for the Houston community and our neighbors. We welcome the involvement of people who share this vision. We are action-oriented and avoid bureaucracy.
